About me

TL;DR

Cooking and baking adventures from the Prairie State.

The details

Munch Munch Chomp Chomp shares ideas and stories that I think make food more fun to eat or make.

What I like

I delight in fun, efficient, and comforting recipes. For a lack of a dishwasher in my current living situation, I enjoy in minimizing cleanup (read: one-pan meals as much as possible). If you’ve even skimmed through my posts, you’ve probably noticed that I am a glutton for baked goods; however I enjoy healthy, plant-based meals as well. Recipes range from slightly more elaborate baked goods from scratch (fun time) as well as healthy, low-effort meals (because I work too). I also really enjoy continually learning, trying new combinations and techniques just for funsies.

What I’m not

I’m not a professional cook, or necessarily even a great home cook, but I hope you can explore with me. I am terrible at decorating cakes, work a full time job, and have had innumerable straight-up kitchen bombs. I prefer to avoid excessively demanding recipes and using hard-to-find ingredients; practicality is important. You can make great food with simple recipes and readily available ingredients.

About your host

Some of my favorite things include fruit pies, All Things Citrus, hearty stews, slightly burnt cheese, and don’t even get me started on brownies. I live in Illinois with my partner Dom (likes: oatmeal, cruciferous vegetables (aka cabbage), pot roast, canned green beans, whiskey, pasta, and anything pickled) and loyal dog Bruce (likes: peanut butter, chicken, dirt, more chicken, anything Dom drops on the floor).
